September of 2015 saw the return of a Sunday preschool for three and half, four and five year olds. This program is based on the "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd" which is an approach to the religious formation of children that is based on the conviction that God and the Child are in relationship. Our role as adults is to protect and nuture this bond.
In the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd we present age-appropriate themes with manipulative materials for the children to use as they ponder the great mysteries of our faith. This form of catechesis is not a program but a method that leads the child to the contemplation and enjoyment of God.
The children will explore Scripture, the Liturgical Year, the Mass and the Sacraments during the year. They will engage in their work which will include an introduction by the Catechist and the time to visit the different stations in the "atrium" located in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Room, which is their holy space! Our focus is to help the children listen to the word og God and respond with joy!
