Do you have a passion for singing and a desire to lead others in worship? We are seeking dedicated soloists to take on a special role in our community—as Cantor.
What Does a Cantor Do?
As a cantor, you will inspire the congregation through your singing. Key responsibilities include:
Cantoring: Leading the Psalm and Gospel verse.
Leading Songs: Guiding the assembly in songs and acclamations, especially in the absence of a choir.
This role is vital for enhancing the worship experience, making it essential that soloists prepare thoroughly.
Requirements for the Role
To excel as a cantor, you should possess the following:
Preparation: A commitment to studying the texts and music.
Singing Skills: The ability to sing clearly, in tune, and with confidence.
Audition: This specialized ministry requires an audition, as well as participation in training sessions with the Music Director.
Anyone in the 9th grade or older is welcome to audition for this rewarding opportunity.
