Dominic's Outreach Center is located in Detroit near Trumbull and Warren Roads, directly across from Wayne State University's football field. Each month a handful of parishioners, who call themselves Dominic's Disciples, head down to the outreach center to help sort clothes, toys, school supplies and food, as well as cut grass, trim bushes, weed, paint and serve hot dogs at their summer picnic and backpack distribution event. We help the center by responding to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
New volunteers are always welcome. Each month you will receive an email reminding you of the upcoming event. There is never any pressure to attend. Volunteers come based on their availability. Remember to always email Nancy Tolkacz if you are able to attend (nancytolkacz@att.net). Thank you for your support!
St. Dominic’s is hosting a Summer Toy Fest Gathering at the end of the school year and they need our help in making it a success. They are looking for New board games and New outdoor summer toys. Please drop off any donated items in the designated bin in the Gathering Space. All items are needed by June 20. Thank you for helping St. Dominic Outreach Center with their activities throughout the year. Your support as always is greatly appreciated!
St. Dominic’s Outreach Center will be hosting a Summer Fun Day for the kids around the area of Trumbull and Warren in Detroit on Saturday, June 25. They are in need of volunteers to help with the event. Volunteers will be needed to cook and serve hotdogs, chips, cookies and a drink; to help kids pick out games, books, and summer toys to take home from the event and to set up and clean up. The event is from 11-1 p.m. Volunteers are needed between 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Volunteers do not have to stay the entire time but we really could use many hands for set up at 9 a.m. Please contact Nancy Tolkacz at nancytollkacz@att.net, as soon as possible if you are able to assist in any way.
