Read page 213: Sin is when you do something intentional and this hurts your relationship with God and each other. The choice to sin is intentional. An accident or mistake is not intentional. The Holy Spirit and the teachings of the Church help us to make good choices. When we mess up, we can still receive the grace of God through the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.
